Vivien Yap is a UK-trained registered chartered counseling psychologist. She offers cognitive behavior therapy and psychodynamic therapy. Vivien has seen clients from both the local and expatriate communities in the UK and in Singapore. She provides therapy to clients with depression, anxiety, phobias, eating disorders and personal issues.

Vivien also currently works part-time in the Department of Psychiatry, Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and is also involved in the department’s eating disorder programme. In SGH, she is currently the external supervisor for the clinical psychology courses in NUS & James Cook University, as well as a faculty member for the National Healthcare Group (NHG) Residency Programme, supervising medical residents in SGH in psychodynamic therapy. She has also taught in the Masters’ in Art Therapy course at Lasalle.

She is currently a member of the British Psychological Society, the Singapore Psychological Society, and an international affiliate member of the American Psychological Association. Vivien used to be a legal associate and partner with a leading law firm in Singapore before changing careers and re-training as a psychologist.
