My Background

Vivien worked for 12 years in the Department of Psychology (formerly part of the Department of Psychiatry) in the Singapore General Hospital (SGH). While in SGH, Vivien saw general psychiatry patients both outpatient and inpatient as well as being part of the established Eating Disorders programme team. She was the main coordinator of the book “Treating Eating Disorders. The SGH Experience’’. While in SGH, she was also the external supervisor for the clinical psychology courses in the National University of Singapore and James Cook University. She was also a faculty member of the National Healthcare Group (NHG) and supervised the medical residents in SGH in psychodynamic therapy. Vivien has also taught in the Masters in Art Therapy course at Lasalle College of the Arts.

When studying, Vivien did placements in London at MIND, the Chinese Mental Health Association, GP practices in Watford and Dollis Hill and with Brent Bereavement Services.

Vivien used to be a legal associate and partner with a leading law firm in Singapore for more than 10 years before changing careers and re-training as a psychologist.
